Yellowstone Ballet Company has created a “nutty Nutcracker” for its 25th annual production, merging two holiday classics: “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and “The Nutcracker.” Both shows include a “Cindy Lou Who” costume contest during intermission. Kathleen Rakela, the company’s artistic director and an award-winning choreographer, melds the timeless tale of Clara and her Nutcracker Prince with excerpts from the Dr. Seuss classic. The original production twines the talents of local dancers with professionals, including Arkadiy Orohovsky as the Grinch, Gleadson Hoffmann as the prince, and Cecilia Hoffmann as the Sugar Plum Fairy. Dancers from Main Street Dance Theatre join the YBC for the show.
