Now in its eighth season, the Crown offers one-of-a-kind learning experiences with phenomenal faculty, master classes by Artists-in-Residence, and special surprise drop-ins by guest artists. There are eight high-impact classes, each assisted or co-taught by the same world-class artists that grace the Festival’s main stage the week of Aug. 29-Sept. 2 on the grounds of the rustic four-star horse ranch. New to the extensive genre options at Crown is a “slide-alicious” workship by multi-Grammy winner Jerry Douglas and electric slide guitar master Sonny Landreth. New artists teaching this year include eclectic multi-instrumentalist David Lindley and classical guitar master and 2016 Grammy winner Jason Vieaux. Returning faculty are Nashville recording artist and blues master Brent Mason, Grammy winner Mike Stern, known for progressive jazz and blues; his wife Leni Stern, acclaimed for her stylizations of jazz with West African and world music; and extraordinary guitarist and singer-songwriter Emily Elbert.
