Wild and Scenic Film Festival -- BOZEMAN -- January 21st

January 21st

Natural Resources Defense Council, Sierra Club, and Gallatin Wildlife Association are excited to host the Wild & Scenic Film Festival at the Emerson Theater in Bozeman on Wednesday, January 21, at 6 PM. The festival features environmental and adventure films that illustrate the Earth’s beauty, the challenges facing our planet, and the work communities around the world are doing to protect the places and wildlife we love.

We are pleased to showcase the documentary “Backyard” produced by Bozeman filmmaker Deia Schlosberg. Backyard focuses on the fracking industry and its effects on people's lives across the country. As oil and gas development expands across Montana, the impacts of fracking are becoming increasingly relevant to Montanans. Following the screening of Backyard, there will be a Q&A session with a panel of experts on fracking. The panelists include John Fenton (Farmer/Speaker), Gloria Flora (Executive Director, Sustainable Obtainable Solutions), Julia Haggerty (Assistant Professor, Montana State University, Department of Earth Sciences), and Mark Haggerty (Headwaters Economics).

Doors open at 5 PM, and films start at 6 PM. The screenings, beer, and snacks are FREE! We also have some great raffle prizes from Big Sky, Girls Outdoors, Sage Salon, and Cafe Fresco! We hope to see you January 21 at the Emerson!
