My Body Sings Electric’s music resonates with a sense of playfulness and lust for life. When you meet them in person, it’s easy to see why. Call their music indie. Call it pop. Call it what you will. But when you connect with the music from this band of loveable misfits, you’ll feel as if you just met your five new best friends.

Pop-sensibility can be a taboo in the indie world, but MBSE does not leave you wanting more. With introspective lyrics, danceable rhythms intricate instrumental work and dynamic live shows, they’ve crafted a fresh, energetic take on indie, pop and alternative rock.

The band’s new album, “Part 1: The Night Ends” is slotted for release on January 28th, 2014, following a list of impressive dates including the 1st Bank Center in Colorado for KTCL’s Not So Silent Night with Young The Giant, Group Love, and Bastille.

In 2014, the band expects to add to their growing list of highlights after signing a booking deal with APA Literary and Talent Agency. They’ve already built and impressive list of gigs including slots on main stage at Westword Music Festival, and dates with The Flobots, 3OH!3, Bayside, Cute Is What We Aim For and The Chain Gang of 1974.

In the spring of 2012, My Body Sings Electric’s album Changing Color cracked the top 200 on the CMJ charts and the band inked licensing agreements with 17 national TV networks including Showtime, MTV, Bravo, Fox Sports and Discovery Networks. Later that year, the band was crowned winners of KTCL’s Hometown for the Holidays contest pushing MBSE into the ranks of hugely successful previous winners like The Flobots, Churchill, and Air Dubai.

In 2011, My Body Sings Electric released their first full-length album “Changing Color” to a two-night run of sold out hometown shows at The Bluebird Theater. Changing Color was recorded in the winter of 2010 at Interlace Audio with Stephan Hawkes (Dance Gavin Dance, Johnny Craig, Fear Before). The record also featured the single “Step Into The Light,” recorded at the Blasting Room (Rise Against, Less Than Jake). The long list of packed shows in 2011 included a date at Red Rocks Amphitheater.

Good Graeff the family band:

Comprised of twin sisters Brooke (guitar, lead vocals) and Brit (cello, backup vocals), Good Graeff came together to compete in a high school “Battle of the Bands.” Upon victory, the girls decided to bring their indie pop music to the streets of Sarasota, Florida, busking for tourists on the barrier islands. Beyond sharing the joy of in-the-moment creation (and some extra spending money), the girls never sought a music career. After high school, Brooke left for Toronto to begin a career in foley arts and sound editing, while Brit remained in Florida, attending UCF to study International Business and Marketing.

Good Graeff the expat party band:

Six years would go by with the girls seldom seeing each other, let alone playing music together. Upon recommendation from Brit, Brooke met her sister in Hanoi, Vietnam, where they lived in expat harmony, teaching English and conducting motorcycle tours through the countryside. Naturally, the sisters returned to what they always shared, and began making music on second (or third…) hand instruments. Neighbors overheard, and the band was brought back to the performance life. After a solid response in Vietnam, Good Graeff was brought back stateside.

Good Graeff the touring machine:

After coming back to the States, the sisters hit the ground running. With a successful kickstarter, the band funded an EP, acquired their tour van Roosevelt (after Eleanor: “Do one thing every day that scares you.”) and embarked on a 3-month tour throughout North America. The following year brought performances at music festivals small and large, including Coral Skies, Savannah Stopover, Gasparilla, SXSW, and Summer Camp, as well as opening slots with Mates of State, St. Paul and the Broken Bones, Shakey Graves, and the Plain White T’s. With the twins new EP “Good Job Go” on the way, MTV premiered their first single “I Want That”, saying “Think we may have found our new favorite act of 2015.” Pair that with an increasingly exuberant live show, these girls are poised to breakthrough, and add yet another layer to their already exceptionally unique life-stories.

Brooke: “It’s not easy living in a van and constantly touring, but I think thats what we like about it. It’s not something everyone can do. It really pushes us to always be doing bigger and better things, like ride unicorns and braid our hair.”
