Magic City Shorts, a short film festival sponsored by The Billings Gazette and the Babcock Theatre, is open for submissions.
The festival, now in its fourth year, will screen the top 10 films on Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. at the Babcock Theatre. Cash awards will be presented that night. Submissions of films 20 minutes or less are being taken at www.billingsgazette.com/film. Deadline for entry is midnight on Aug. 31.
Categories for entry are documentary ($250 prize); fiction ($250 prize); student, K-12, 5 minutes or less ($250 prize); and music ($250 prize). Voting will take place on the Billings Gazette’s website and at the live event to determine the winner of the People’s Choice category, which includes a $250 prize. The Best of Show, Geno Foster Award, which is worth a $750 prize, will be awarded the night of the event.
