JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes -- MISSOULA -- April 12th

April 12th

JDRF annual Walk to Cure Diabetes will be held Sunday, April 12th, 2015 at our NEW location at Ogren Park (Osprey Stadium). Registration begins at 1pm. The 3 mile walk begins at 2pm and a BBQ and raffle prizes will follow. This year we will be walking the beautiful River Trail in Missoula, MT.

JDRF is the leading charitable funder and advocate of Type 1 Diabetes research worldwide. Since its founding in 1970, by parents with children with type 1 diabetes, JDRF has awarded more than $1 billion to diabetes research. Missoula's JDRF branch is completely volunteer driven. We have no administrative or office expenses, therefore, 100% of event profits go directly toward funding research and education. Last year our local Missoula walk raised $50,000 that was forwarded on to help find a cure.

The day of the walk will be a fun filled day for both children and families affected by Type 1 diabetes. There will be kids' games, Missoula mascots (Monte, Ollie, and Slash), a raffle for the walkers, entertainment provided by The Trail radio station, team photos, and a free BBQ after the walk. We are asking friends and family members affected by Type 1 diabetes to organize teams, raise money, and come support diabetes research, education, and community members affected by diabetes.

People interested in forming a team can pick up a registration form at most local pharmacies, the Trail radio station, and Payne West Financial. People also can go online at www.jdrf.org, click on the "Walk to Cure Diabetes" link, and then click "register for a walk" and pick Missoula. The final way to get information is to contact our walk coordinators Trish Duce at [email protected] or Lindsey Larkin at [email protected]
