Grounded in hymns, early country songs, gospel and folk, DeMent’s work is treasured for its insight and unabashed beauty. Now the singer/songwriter is touring a new album, The Trackless Woods, based on the works of Russian poet Anna Akhmatova (1889-1996). In the kindred spirit of a Russian rebel aristocrat, DeMent has found a new view of her own artistic and emotional life.
