For 34 years, the second Saturday in August has meant huckleberry pie, huckleberry treats, arts, crafts and music on the shores of beautiful Swan Lake. The 34th annual Huckleberry Festival will get underway at 9 am on Saturday, Autust 8. Morning activities include a pancake breakfast, a Huckleberry Baking contest and Huckleberry Baked Goods Sale. (Come early, the pies sell out quickly!) Planned afternoon activities include a silent auction and raffles of donated items including gift certificates adn products from area restaurants and merchants. The festival also features an Arts & Crafts Fair with more than 40 vendors offering a wide array of handicrafts, gifts, Montana-made products, food and country-made delicacies. Music will be provided by the Ashley Creek Ramblers featuring Roy Wilhelm. The Festival is sponsored by the Swan Lake Chamber & Community Club. Festival procees will be used to fund maintenance of the Swan Lake Community Center.
