Germanfest, an annual ethnic heritage celebration that highlights Missoula's Sister City relationship with Neckargemund, one of the oldest communities in Germany. The celebration is held in the Pavilion at Caras Park alongside the Clark Fork River in downtown Missoula. A typical program includes free musical entertainment and German style dancing. Children's activities and an information booth on German culture are included. Also available are modestly-priced ethnic foods and, naturlich, Bayern brew beverages.
2015 marks the 22nd anniversary of this sister-city partnership. Visitors from Neckargemund are often on hand to enjoy the festivities.
