Elk Basin Motocross Race
Sunday, June 22, 2014 - Sunday, June 22, 2014
Billings Motorcycle Club has promoted the Elk Basin Cross Country race outside of Belfry, MT for more than 30 years. This race covers more than 75 miles of hills, ravines and rock providing a mountain man challenge for those tough enough to finish. If you want to try Baja style racing without going to Mexico or Africa, this is the place to meet.
Riders are divided into "A" and "B" classes. "A" riders do three laps around the rugged and challenging course for a total of 70+ miles. "B" class riders do two laps. Regardless of the class you are in, you are guaranteed to earn your bragging rights if you finish, much less win, because the promoters believe in setting a challenging course, always.
Make sure you bring in plenty of water, and come prepared for a "rough" camp as there are few amenities in this part of Montana. Temperatures will reach 100 degrees, rattlesnakes are not uncommon and the terrain is inhospitable. So why come out? The vistas are awesome, the challenges are real and it is an adventure of a lifetime.
