The Billings Saddle Club hosts two days of Cowboy Mounted Shooting, in which talented shooters dress up in old-timey outfits and see who rides fastest and shoots best.
Cowboy Mounted Shooting is an event where the object is to shoot ten balloon targets while riding through a variety of challenging courses using black powder pistols and rifles. It’s a high-speed, timed spectator sport in which the competitor who rides the fastest with the least amount of missed targets wins. Contestants dress in traditional western style or in the old time style of the late 1800's. The riders are scored on time and accuracy.
