A boiling cauldron of symphonic spookiness, ghoulish melodies and eerie sounds awaits in this concert replete with hair-raising tricks, and thrilling musical treats. Violinist Emily Young, winner of the 2015 Montana Association of Symphony Orchestras Young Artist Competition, is guest artist. Frightful selections include “Night on Bald Mountain” by Mussorgsky, “Funeral March of a Marionette” by Gounod, “Hansel and Gretel” by Humperdinck, “L’apprenti socier (The Sorcerer’s Apprentice)” by Dukas, and “Harry’s Wonderous World” by John Williams, among others. Audience members are encouraged to dress in costume.
