August 07th

Fair Night Shows Kickoff August 7 with multi Platinum band AWOLNATION!

MontanaFair opens its nine day run Friday August 7 with a number of new shows, new displays, a compelling salute to the first 100 years of fair, and a great mix of new and classic acts.

On Sneak-A-Peek night, the fair starts new bringing 6 time Platinum selling, Los Angeles based Indie Rock band AWOLNATION to MontanaFair.

The band has two songs in the Billboard U.S. Rock chart top 15 currently. “I’m On Fire” comes from the Fifty Shades of Grey Original Motion Picture Soundtrack and Hollow Moon (Bad Wolf) from the new studio album Run, are at number 11 and number 13 respectively.

AWOLNATION recently released the highly anticipated new studio album Run March 17th. The follow up to their Gold-certified debut album Megalithic Symphony saw musical architect and frontman Aaron Bruno withdraw into the depths of the California coastline to construct the sophomore effort. “There is not one second on the record that hasn’t been thoughtfully placed,” said Bruno. “Every single element serves a purpose.”

Standout songs alongside the electric single “Hollow Moon (Bad Wolf)” include the cinematic “Jailbreak,” the soaring anthem “I Am,” the title track “Run,” the euphoric “Windows,” the painfully vulnerable “Headrest for My Soul,” and the atomic rebellion of “KOOKSEVERYWHERE!!!!”

The band’s hit single “Sail,” is certified 6X Platinum in the U.S., and is the second longest charting song in the Billboard Hot 100′s 55-year history. “Sail” amassed hundreds of millions of video views and streaming plays online while charting around the world. Following that success, the band charted two more alternative singles, “Not Your Fault” and “Kill Your Heroes,” having sold over a million downloads combined. Since their debut, AWOLNATION has performed countless shows to millions of fans across the globe.

New Politics’ self-titled debut, which came on via RCA in 2010, was centered on a singular motto. The Denmark trio, uprooted their lives and relocated to Williamsburg after signing with the label, New Politics yielded raucous hit single “Yeah Yeah Yeah” and the band embarked on tour for nearly two years with the likes of 30 Seconds To Mars and Neon Trees, enrapturing fans with their intensely dynamic live shows, bolstered by David’s impressive breakdancing skills. The band appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and Fuel TV’s The Daily Habit, and earned scores of press, including accolades from Alternative Press. Doing what felt right to the band evolved into a big album with a bigger response.

New Politics have opened shows for Fall Out Boy, Pink, and Paramore. Last fall, the band began their first headlining tour with the Everywhere I Go Tour. New Politics is made up of:

• David Boyd – lead vocals, guitar

• Søren Hansen – bass guitar, guitar, vocals, keyboards, programming
