4th of July Celebration -- LAUREL -- July 3rd & 4th

The Laurel 4th of July Celebration begins on July 3rd with a " Street Dance" sponsored by the Laurel Jaycees.

On the morning of July 4th, the Jaycees sponsor a pancake breakfast from 6:00am to 10:00am at Fireman's Park.

Also beginning at 6:00am is registration for the Chief Joseph Run sponsored by the Laurel Chamber. The race begins at 7:00am with a 8 mile run, 4 mile run and 2 mile run and 4 mile and 2 mile walks. The race begins at Thomson Park, goes up hill on 1st Avenue, turns and comes back downhill to end at Thomson Park.

Meanwhile the Laurel Chamber Craft and Food Fair is also setting up on 1st Avenue. The show starts at 8:00am and runs till 9:00pm with vendors offering a wide variety of wares. The food vendors come from all over to host their specialty foods and goodies. 

The Jaycee's Kiddie Parade, sponsored by the Laurel Jaycees, begins at 10:00am, starting at 1st Citizens Bank and travels down Main Street and west to Yellowstone parking lot. There is no charge and all kids are welcome to participate. 

At 11:00am it is time for the Laurel Chamber Grand Parade which begins at the Caboose Saloon and ends at the Laurel High School. Parade line-up includes Grand Marshall, Junior Marshall, Color Guard, fire engines, antique autos, floats, clowns, horses, bands and others. Parade lasts about one hour from start to finish. Activities are held all afternoon around Thomson Park. 

At 6:00pm a rock 'n roll show begins in the park and prizes are drawn up to the time of the firework display. At dusk the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department puts on the most dazzling and the largest fireworks display in Montana. The fireworks are set off to patriotic music and are held in Thomson Park. 10,000 plus visitors come to Laurel to view this amazing display of patriotism.
