November 01st
Through medical illustrations, or thangkas, ritual objects, and deeply intimate photographs by Jeff Van Tine, this exhibition explores the tightly woven cultural, artistic, and medical practices of Tibetan healing traditions. Three exhibits continue through Dec. 31: “Reflections” by well-known Helena artist Carol Novotne, whose oil and watercolor paintings capture a world of color, texture and movement; “Above the Fruited Plain” by Oglala-Lakota artist Dwayne Wilcox, whose ledger art blends history with modern life; and “In the Vault: colorFilled,” showcasing works from the permanent collection that feature artists’ interpretations of color.
Venue: Holter Museum of Art
