(Frenchtown, MT) – Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) will host a Junior Ranger Program at Frenchtown Pond State Park this summer beginning in June.

Be a Junior Ranger at Frenchtown Pond State Park. Learn about wildlife and the environment, develop your observational skills, and connect with nature while you earn your Junior Ranger badge.  This program is FREE and open to kids, aged 4-12, who love to play and learn outdoors. Attend two events to earn your badge or attend all five for extra fun! Each event is unique. Come and celebrate the great outdoors with us!

Junior Ranger Schedule:
•    June 21: Getting to know FWP and Super Senses! Learn what is means to be a steward of the environment and how to use your five senses to really experience the outdoors!

•    July 5: It Happened Here and Healthy Habitats! Learn to be observational scientists like Lewis and Clark and what it means to have a healthy habitat for you and for Montana wildlife!

•    July 19: What’s up with Wildlife: Animal Olympics! Can you jump as far as a mountain lion, run as fast as a pronghorn or flap as quickly as a hummingbird? Come find out at the Animal Olympics!

•    August 2: Connecting with Cultures! Join us to learn about bison, Native American cultures and pictographs; all important parks of Montana’s natural history.

•    August 16: Wonders of Water and Geology ROCKS! Learn about the fish in Frenchtown Pond and the rocks that make up the mountains of Montana!
